Day 2
Day at leisure until your transfer to Nairobi's Wilson Airport in time for your scheduled flight to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip. On arrival at the airstrip a short game drive transfer will bring you to camp.

Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is situated on the western border of the Masai Mara National Reserve in southwestern Kenya. In addition to an excellent year-round concentration of animals, Kichwa Tembo lies directly in the path of Africa's spectacular Great Migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra. Kichwa Tembo is an oasis of Hemingway-style tents shaded by dense forest canopy. The spacious canvas safari tents offer magical views over the Masai Mara grasslands or the Sabaringo River. You will be accommodated in a splendidly furnished tent, with en-suite shower and twin hand basin.

The camp is set among the forests just below the spot where a famous scene from the movie "Out of Africa" was filmed. The main thatched guest areas include a welcoming bar and sitting area, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a well-stocked gift shop featuring African art, artifacts and safari-wear. The large swimming pool is perfect for laid-back game viewing whilst cooling off.

Relax in the candlelit bar in the evening before enjoying delicious Pan-African cuisine served alfresco style outdoors or in the main dining area. Private dining and exciting bush banquets may be arranged on request.

Day 3
Activities include game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. A ballooning safari and/or a day trip to Lake Victoria (Mfangano Island) can be arranged at an additional cost.

The Masai Mara National Reserve in southwestern Kenya, is an extension of the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. Named for the Maasai tribespeople (the traditional inhabitants of the area) and the Mara River which divides it, it is famous for its exceptional population of game and the annual migration of the wildebeest. The entire area of the park is nestled within the enormous Great Rift Valley that extends from the Mediterranean Sea to South Africa. The reserve offers wonderful scenery of breathtaking vistas, panoramas of vast rolling plains, hills and woodland groves, well watered by the lovely Mara River. The Mara is home to the largest population of lions in Kenya; these magnificent beasts spend most of the day sleeping in the shade of Acacia Trees. The waters of the Mara River are home to crocodiles and pools of hippo and the woodlands and forests are favored by leopard and elephant while the open savannah areas play host to the plains' game. All of the "Big Five" - Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant and Leopard - are here, as well as cheetah, hippo, hartebeest, gazelle, topi, antelope, zebra and many other animals.
Accommodation: Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp (B,L,D)
Day 4
Enjoy an early morning game-drive and breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip where you will board your scheduled flight to Arusha Airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge. Spend one night at Arusha Coffee Lodge in a chalet with an en-suite bathroom on a bed and breakfast basis.

Inspired by the grade and romance of a fine "old-time" coffee plantation where guests could anticipate a high standard of accommodation, Arusha Coffee Lodge is nestled in a coffee plantation and along side a lovely restaurant. There are 21 private chalets featuring multi-level areas, huge balconies and beautiful fireplaces, all with en suite bathroom facilities. In addition, each chalet features a mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, ceilings fans, safes and hairdryers; each chalet also has its own coffee grinder and percolator in the spirit of a true coffee estate experience. Other services at the lodge include phone and fax, Internet access and room service. The warm, cozy atmosphere of the dining room prepares you for a menu that features an exciting array of traditional Tanzanian cuisine as well as variety of other African specialties.

Day 5
Day at leisure until your road transfer to Arusha Airport where you will board your scheduled flight to Manyara Airstrip. On arrival you will be met by a representative from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for your road transfer to the Lodge (2 hours).

Spend two nights at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Accommodation is in a sumptuous double suite with en-suite hand basins, bath, shower and private washroom. Each suite is tended by a butler. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge consists of three intimate camps perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater - a World Heritage site. North and South Camps have 12 suites each, and Intimate Tree Camp has six suites, each with spectacular Crater views. All have an en suite bathroom and chandelier-lit bath-tub and shower, and private viewing deck. Each sumptuous suite is discreetly tended by a personal butler, who will bring you tea in bed, stoke your fireplace and draw your bath, scattering the water with rose petals, ready for your enjoyment. Ancient African nights are evoked by the large fire bowls that flank the entrance to each of the living and dining areas.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (B,L,D)
Day 6
You will enjoy a game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater Floor. Additional activities may be booked directly at the lodge, subject to extra cost and availability of vehicles. Such activities include excursions to Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands, a visit to a Maasai village and walks at Empakai Crater. Massages are offered for those who need to relax after a day's game-viewing.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a world heritage site that is close to three million years old and the area is a haven for a variety of wildlife. The Crater is situated on the Eastern edge of the Serengeti National Park. Relax near the once active volcano that offers its visitors a large soda lake, fresh springs and sheltering forests. The Ngorongoro volcano, before it exploded and collapsed 2 million years ago, was one of the world's tallest mountains. There is a large concentration of animals in the Crater and sightings of the "Big Five": lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo, are almost guaranteed. The structure of the Crater and the wildlife it attracts makes for a great African wildlife experience.
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (B,L,D)
Day 7

The camp has been superbly blended into the environment with the sleeping platforms built into a variety of Baobab, Mopani and Wild Fig trees. Each en-suite unit has a private veranda and lounge area, with sweeping views over the surrounding bush.
Accommodation: Tarangire Tree Tops (B,L,D)
Day 8
Your stay at Tarangire Tree Tops includes scheduled game-drives and a guided walk. Wide panoramas of open acacia woodland and grassy savanna studded with large Baobab trees mark Tarangire - the best-kept secret on the 'northern safari circuit'. Tarangire National Park covers 2,600 square kms and has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators. It is known for its tree-climbing lions and for its very big herds of buffalo. This is one of Africa's little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. Predators include lion, cheetah and leopard, and birders will want to look out for the endemic ashy starling, rufous-tailed weaver and black-collared lovebird. Resident lion, giraffe, elephant, and black rhino are common at any season and the park is noted for its baobab trees and splendid vistas of rolling savannah and acacia woodland. Tarangire National Park's pythons climb trees, as do its lions and leopards, lounging in the branches where the fruit of the sausage tree disguises the twitch of a tail. Huge herds of elephant frequent the site of the camp on their way to watering in the Sand River, ensuring year-round resident game.

The camp also offers the unique facility of night drives and game walks, including a special trail for mountain biking. Armed rangers, whose knowledge of the bush is legendary, accompany all ventures.

Day 9
Enjoy an early morning game-drive and breakfast before your road transfer to the airstrip where you will board your scheduled flight to Grumeti or Klein's Airstrip. From the airstrip a game-drive transfer will bring you to camp.

Spend two nights at either Grumeti River Camp OR Kleins Camp.

Grumeti River Camp is situated in a remote valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. Flanked by two hillsides, the camp overlooks a bywater of the Grumeti River a comfortable haven from which to experience the truly wild pulse of Africa. The river-fronted camp offers exceptional crocodile and hippo viewing. Grumeti's 10 spacious tents under makuti(palm frond) canopies feature vibrant colourful interiors - including hand-blown Kenyan glassware, African cloth and local sculptured furnishings. The en-suite bathrooms have separate washrooms and alfresco showers open to the sun and stars. The spacious decks are perfect for sundowners overlooking the water.

ALTERNATIVELY
Spend two nights at Klein's Camp. Klein's Camp is situated deep in the heart of the game-rich northern Serengeti right off the beaten tourist track. Its 10,000-hectare private wildlife concession leased from Maasai landlords is allotted for the exclusive use of the camps 20 guests, offering you the ultimate personal Tanzanian safari. Klein's is one of the most strategically positioned wildlife sanctuaries in the world - right in the path of migrating wildebeest and zebra. The camp is set on the edge of the Kuka Hills, commanding breathtaking views of the valley. Action-packed night game-drives and extensive bush walks into the Serengeti are an absolute highlight.

Klein's Camp comprises a main lodge and ten luxury turn-of-the-century style cottages of local rock and thatch have rich wooden floors which beautifully offset the soft cream and gossamer-fabric interiors. Each spacious cottage has an en-suite bathroom and private terrace from which a diversity of resident wildlife, including elephant, may be viewed in the valley.
Accommodation: Grumeti River Camp / Klein's Camp (B,L,D)
Day 10
Activities include game-drives in the Serengeti National Park. Every year during Africa's annual Great Migration, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores cross the Grumeti River, risking the jaws of some of the largest crocodiles on earth. Large pods of hippo grunt from their watery hideaway below the camp and black-and-white Colobus monkeys live in Grumeti's bird-filled riverine trees. At night, the nocturnal orchestra of owls and bush babies is punctuated by the primeval sounds of lion and hyena.

Serengeti comes from the Masai word 'Siringit' meaning 'the place where the land runs on forever' and refers to the flat grassy plains which make up about a third of the park. The grasslands and savannahs of the Serengeti National Park sustain a huge animal population and is world famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration. This annual movement of herbivores across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. Tirelessly following almost the same pattern each year, and at around the same time of the calendar, the animals take an amazing yearlong 2,900 km clockwise trek, relentlessly tracked by Africa's great predators. Some fall prey to the giant crocodiles as they plunge through the Mara and Grumeti rivers, while predators stalk others on the run. Golden-manned lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, elephant, jackals, wild dogs, topi and impala are just a few of the hundreds of different species that live in the massive park.
Accommodation: Grumeti River Camp / Klein's Camp (B,L,D)
Day 11
