Day 1
Depart from Toronto for Washington, DC or New York, NY and connect with your South African Airways flight for Cape Town via Johannesburg.

Day 2
On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport's Central Terminal Building, collect your luggage and then clear Customs and Immigration. Re-check your bags for your domestic flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be met by a Lion World Tours representative and transferred to your hotel.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa stands at the edge of the world. On one side, the majestic Twelve Apostles Mountains reach towards the heavens; on the other, the sun sets on breeching whales, playful dolphins, and crashing Atlantic rollers. All around, you can walk the wilderness trails of the Table Mountain National Park. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is only 15 minutes away via the complimentary shuttle service.

Day 3
Today you will be taken on a half day Stellenbosch Winelands tour.

It's truly the prettiest town, home to one of the country's prestigious universities, and you'll love exploring the fine art galleries, the architecture, the history, and the curious and world-renowned region, before inducting you into the wine-making process in a fascinating cellar tour. And when the wine's made, it needs to be tasted, so we'll twist your arm to test and taste....and no doubt, you'll leave with a favourite bottle or two under your arm. Stellenbosch is arguably one of the Province's most beautiful towns - but you be the judge.

Day 4
Today is a day of leisure to enjoy the wonderful city of Cape Town.

Cape Town is a city with a diverse range of attractions, sights and activities to offer and has something for everyone. From the landmark beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay to the vibrant V&A Waterfront and Cape Town city centre, the award winning wine farms of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, time spent in Cape Town will not be forgotten. Cape Town is a sophisticated city at the gateway to a majestic continent. The Mother City is a place where old and new harmoniously converge - in history, architecture, cultural pursuits and the essence of its people. The city is dominated by a towering, table-shaped mountain, set on a peninsula of soaring, rocky heights and lush valleys, where two oceans converge - Indian and Atlantic. Natural beauty and the fast pace and bright lights of a great urban centre meld effortlessly here. Firmly positioned on the international map, Cape Town offers a myriad of things to do and places to see, whatever your tastes, inclinations or budget.

Day 5
Spend your last day in Cape Town perhaps doing some shopping or visiting one of the many places of interest.

Cape Town is a fabulously diverse and vibrant city; from its beautiful natural attributes to its colourful culture, stunning wine farms and captivating history - it's a tourist heaven. Cape Town offers historic and cultural sites, world class museums and bustling markets, inviting beaches and lush gardens, as well as great restaurants and wonderful shopping. While South Africa is best known for its game parks and natural spendours, it is also a land whose cities exude urban sophistication, rich in history, the arts, entertainment and other cosmopolitan delights.

Day 6
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival connect with your flight to Hoedspruit where you will be met on arrival and transferred to your lodge.

Later this afternoon depart on your first open vehicle game drive in the Thornybush or Kapama Reserve.

Day 7
This morning you will enjoy a game viewing activity in this spectacular wildlife kingdom.

Spend the hottest part of the day relaxing around the pool or perhaps take a siesta to make up for the early-morning wake-up call. In the afternoon you will be taken on another unforgettable safari through the unspoiled African bush.

Jackalberry Lodge in Thornybush Private Game Reserve, adjoining the Greater Kruger National Park, is one of the world's premier "Big Five" game viewing areas. Game drives in open safari vehicles with highly trained rangers and trackers offer the privilege of experiencing a true bushveld environment, as well as the prospect of seeing Africa's "Big Five" at close quarters.

Kapama Private Nature Reserve covers 12 000 hectares/30 000 acres of undisturbed bushveld in prime "Big Five" - Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard - country. The reserve enjoys panoramic views of the nearby Drakensberg Mountain range and the area supports a wide variety of game including elephants, buffalo and rhinoceros, and a large population of giraffe, impala, blue wildebeest and kudu. Predators include lion, leopard, cheetah and spotted hyena. A small permanent water source lies just beyond Kapama River Lodge perimeter fence attracting animals like antelope, elephant and buffalo. Watch this truly African spectacle from the warm blue water of the big rim flow swimming pool, or relax in the shade of an umbrella around the pool.

Day 8
After an early morning game drive to track the animals that have eluded you so far, followed by breakfast, you will be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. (B)

On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport, connect with your scheduled international South African Airways flight back to the US.
Day 9
Arrive home with a lifetime of memories!

KAPAMA RIVER LODGE
Kapama River Lodge is so named because it lies in the curve of the Kapama River which is usually dry but floods from time to time and can reach the steps of the lodge swimming pool. Each spacious room at Kapama River Lodge features a full en-suite bathroom and terrace with uninterrupted views into the leafy-green "Big Five" game reserve. The central guest entertainment areas include a large rim-flow swimming pool with sun umbrellas and recliners for lazy afternoons. The long L-shaped relaxation lounge and bar under a double-volume thatch, curves around the pool and on either side is a huge double-sided fireplace creating an open-plan yet cozy atmosphere. The Rhino Boma dining area with tables arranged under a low thatch in a horseshoe curve has a central open space where a roaring outdoor fire gives a glow to evening meals. Buffet-style meals introduce African flavours with Pan African dishes using fresh local ingredients and specialist dishes featuring venison like kudu and impala.
