Depart from New York or Washington, DC on your flight to Cape Town, South Africa via Johannesburg, on South African Airways.

Day 02
On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport's Central Terminal Building, collect your luggage and then clear Customs & Immigration. Re-check your bags for your domestic flight to Cape Town. Then upon arrival at Cape Town Airport, you will be met by a Lion World Tours representative and transferred to your hotel.

Take a Table Mountain and Cape Peninsula tour.
Enjoy the ultimate 'Mother City' experience - designed to orientate you and give you an insight into the magic of Cape Town. Take a trip up Table Mountain (weather permitting) in a cable car. The new revolving cable cars give stunning views over the city. The summit of Cape Town's world-famous landmark is 1,086 meters/3,258 feet above sea level and from the summit you can marvel at the awe-inspiring 360-degree view of the city.
Then begin the Cape Peninsula tour. The Fairest Cape, and it surely is! You'll soon see for yourself where and why it earned its name. Sit back and relax, while taking a drive along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire's Paradise, from Camps Bay and Clifton to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno towards the charming working harbor of Hout Bay; if you so choose, you can embark on an up-close-and-personal Seal Island cruise (your own account). Back on terra firma, the tour winds its way along the legendary Chapman's Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breathtaking ocean views, before arriving at our lunch spot of choice (your own account): the wild and beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, an integral part of the world-renowned Cape Floral Kingdom. Today is a day of leisure to enjoy the wonderful city of Cape Town.
Cape Town is a city with a diverse range of attractions, sights and activities to offer and it has something for everyone. From the landmark beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay to the vibrant V&A Waterfront and Cape Town city centre, the award-winning wine farms of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek - time spent in Cape Town will not be forgotten. Cape Town is a sophisticated city at the gateway to a majestic continent. The Mother City is a place where old and new harmoniously converge in history, architecture, cultural pursuits and the essence of its people. The city is dominated by a towering, table-shaped mountain, set on a peninsula of soaring, rocky heights and lush valleys, where two oceans converge - Indian and Atlantic. Cape Town offers a myriad things to do and places to see, whatever your tastes, inclinations or budget.

Day 06
This morning you will check out of your hotel and transfer by road to Le Quartier Francais in Franschhoek where you will spend two-nights on a bed and breakfast basis.
Fifteen elegantly decorated en-suite bedrooms enter onto the rose filled central courtyard and swimming pool. This secluded country retreat is situated in the picturesque village of Franschhoek, heart of the Cape Winelands. This award-winning hotel and restaurant boasts the mouthwatering combination of ultimate luxury, country hospitality and sublime cuisine. Situated within the town itself, the hotel offers guests the opportunity to partake in the atmosphere, charm and quaintness of the historic village.

Day 07
Today you will participate in the South African Flavors adventure at Le Quartier Francais.
This will include a delicious kitchen and mountain adventure, including an unforgettable indoor and outdoor experience, introducing you to the 'magic of local'. This will be a morning dedicated to learning about, and cooking with, uniquely South African ingredients; followed by a guided walk through the surrounding countryside accompanied by an interesting, and unforgettable, talk about indigenous fynbos - 'fine bush', which is vegetation unique to the Cape Floral Kingdom.
On completion, a scrumptious sampling of wines and an outstanding picnic lunch will be enjoyed - overflowing with South African tastes.

Day 08
Check out of your hotel in the Winelands and transfer to Cape Town Airport for your scheduled flight to Kruger-Mpumalanga.
On arrival at Kruger-Mpumalanga Airport you will be transferred to Lion Sands River Lodge where you will spend the next three-nights.
Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is situated in the southern portion of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The only private reserve to have access to the perennial Sabie River, Lion Sands River Lodge is nestled under a canopy of trees dating back almost 800 years, faces due east catching the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park. The lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature and relaxation. The lodge comprises of a private lounge, bar, 2 swimming pools, wooden viewing decks, a river island deck, health spa, gymnasium, curio shop and an indoor and open-air dining area. Staff here has fine-tuned the art of creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere - South African hospitality at its best! Day 09
This morning you will depart on an early morning game drive. On your return indulge in a leisurely breakfast and then spend the day enjoying the peace and tranquility of your surroundings.
Later in the day you will join Chef Malcolm to prepare Potjie. In South Africa, Potjiekos literally translated "food of a small pot", is a stew prepared outdoors, over an open fire, in a traditional round, cast iron, three-legged pot. The pot is heated efficiently using small amounts of wood or charcoal.
Traditionally, the recipe includes meat, vegetables, starches like rice or potatoes, all slow-cooked with Dutch-Malay spices, the distinctive spicing of South Africa's early culinary melting pot.
This will all take place in the Boma area around the centre fire. Each guest will be given an Apron and Chefs hat together with recipes that have been prepared.

Day 10
Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities.
Guests can look forward to an array of activities, which include early morning safari drives and evening game drives in open Land Rovers. The Sabie River has the highest recorded density of leopards in Africa, and one of the highest predator densities. The Sabie River is also said to have the richest biodiversity of any South African river, with many endangered and rare species (mammals, birds, reptiles and plants) being found in the area.

Day 11
Take one last early morning game drive before your departure, to capture sight of any game that you may not have seen.
You will then be transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg.
After a marvelous tour and an experience of a lifetime you will leave with wonderful memories of what this beautiful country has to offer.
On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport, you will bid farewell to South Africa and depart on your international flight back to the USA on South African Airways.
