Day 03
After breakfast you will check-out of the hotel and travel west through the Kenya's fertile highlands, where rolling tea and coffee estates abound. Then suddenly to your left, the trees part to reveal a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley, with dormant Longonot volcano taking centre stage. You continue to your luxury camp located in a private conservancy close to Lake Elmenteita. Lunch is provided before your board your safari vehicle again for the short journey to Lake Nakuru National Park for the afternoon game viewing experience. Day 04
After an early morning breakfast leave the Lakes region behind and head for Njoro town, where you begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment. Then, heading due south, travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. You'll travel across the "breadbasket" of Kenya, covered with acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Mara.
You take a break at Keekorok Lodge in time for lunch. Following lunch you continue on your way to Mara Serena Lodge, game viewing en route.

Mara Serena Safari Lodge
A masterful interpretation of a traditional Masai village, Mara Serena Safari Lodge seemingly floats on a sea of savannah. A beautiful pool looks out over the wide plains. The rooms are Masai-influenced in style yet extremely comfortable. The main dining room, where delicious meals are served, has three large domes and three small ones depicting Maasai manyattas (villages). Occasionally, an African al fresco barbecue is served by the pool overlooking the Mara plains. Fresh fruit juices and cocktails, wines, spirits or liqueurs are available at the bar until late in the evening. At Serena, the views are stunning. It is on this very terrain, stretching endlessly before the lodge, that the annual migrations take place. Millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle pass through on their way to and from their alternative feeding grounds in Tanzania.
Accommodation: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (B, L, D)
Day 05 & Day 06
Early morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Overnight at Mara Serena Safari Lodge on a full board basis.

The Masai Mara National Reserve is an extension of the world-renowned Serengeti National Park of Tanzania. Named for the Maasai tribespeople (the traditional inhabitants of the area) and the Mara River which divides it, the reserve is famous for its exceptional population of game and the annual migration of the wildebeest. Masai Mara offers wonderful scenery of breathtaking vistas, panoramas of vast rolling plains, hills and woodland groves, well watered by the lovely Mara River.

The waters of the Mara River are home to crocodiles and pools of hippo, while the woodlands and forests are favored by leopard and elephant. The open savannah areas play host to the plains' game. All of the "Big Five" - Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant and Leopard - are here, as well as cheetah, hippo, hartebeest, gazelle, topi, antelope, zebra and many other animals. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black maned males.

Day 07
After breakfast at the lodge, bid farewell to the Masai Mara as you set off on your journey back to Nairobi. Drive back down the Great Rift Valley to Nairobi, passing the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot on the way. Keep an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle and head up the escarpment. You will arrive in Kenya's bustling capital city Nairobi in the early afternoon.

Transfer to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your departure flight on South African Airways to Cape Town via Johannesburg. On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport's Central Terminal Building, collect your luggage and then clear customs and immigration. Re-check your bags for your onward flight to Cape Town.

On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met by a Lion World Tours representative and transferred to your hotel.
